How Is The Hair Transplant Done
Hair transplant surgery is done with a specialist doctor and a few experienced technicians in a procedure performed with local anesthesia lasts 4-5 hours. It is important to extract hair from the donor area and open new hair channels by a doctor experienced in hair transplantation.This is the most important and noteworthy point in hair transplantation surgeries.
The hair transplant is majorly conducted with two methods, Follicular Unit Extraction(FUT) and Follicular Unit Transplantation. The difference between both methods is that the hair follicles are stripped in the FUT while they’re individually extracted in FUE. Here, how is the hair transplant done :
Hair Transplant Procedure Types
1.Examination and Diagnosis
The doctors will determine the type and condition of your hair loss through historical examination. The best condition to take FUE or FUT is that you have enough amount of donor hair follicles to transplant.
Some tests will be conducted to figure out the bleeding disorder, heart, liver, or kidney problems. You may be required to stop the medication which is thinning your blood a week before the procedure.
The doctor will inform you how is the hair transplant done in details including how many grafts to transplant, precautions, the total cost, and so forth.
Hair Transplant Procedure
1.You need to wash your hair on the procedure
2.You’re suggested to take a breakfast due to a long procedure which may take a full day.
3.The balding area and the donor area will be photographed as you reached the clinic or hospital
4.The donor area will be trimmed and cleaned, the hair follicles will be extracted from this area.
5.You’ll be under local anesthesia and remain conscious during the hair transplant procedure
6.The Surgeon will individually extract the follicular units from the donor are which contain 1 – 5 hair grafts. The surgeon may use the manual method or utilize motorized extraction machine called SAFE or rely the job on ARTAS Robotic system. The surgeon will place the follicular units in the special solution to keep them alive and healthy. The surgeon transplant the extracted follicular unit to the balding area using the micro punchers or robotic machines.
7.The manual extraction and transplantation will take 4-6 hours and involve a team of surgeons and assistant. That’s why an FUE procedure may take a full day to complete.
8.the bandage will be soon applied to the donor area and recipient area after all the follicular units are transplanted and thorough cleaning.
The doctor may prescribe you a pain reliever aide and antibiotics. You will have to revisit the clinic on the next day for re-cleaning and examination. You might have to spray the normal saline to the implanted area to prevent it from drying. You will experience swelling for several days but don’t worry it’s a normal condition of post-procedure.
