FUE Hair Transplant Result
FUE is a method in the hair transplant procedure that where the surgeon extracts the follicles from the donor area and relocate them to the balding area. This method is very popular due to a less invasive procedure and quicker recovery period. As the transplanted follicles are derived from the area which is genetically resistant to the baldness, they can promote permanent hair growth in the former balding area.
What is FUE Hair Transplant?
Hair transplant doesn’t create any new hair, the same follicles will grow the hair in the transplanted area. That’s why the hair growth will follow the natural cycle which consists of three phases: Anagen, Catagen, and Telogen. Once the follicles are transplanted, the follicles are entering the catagen phase(transitional) due to shock and pressure during the procedure. Within two weeks, you will find that the transplanted hair falls out as the result of this phase. After that, the hair will enter the resting phase or telogen within 3-4 months, you may not see the hair growth in this phase. As the hair enters the Anagen phase, the hair starts to grow and you will notice the density and thickness within next months.
You can clearly see the result approximately 12 -15 months after the hair transplant procedure. It may vary to each person but this range is the common period where the hair transplant patient can clearly evaluate the process. The natural cycle of hair growth cannot be changed, so you need to be patient to wait and see the result, So, if you’re noticing your hair falling out two weeks after the procedure and remains like that for three months, it’s not the sign of the procedure failure. It’s simply the natural cycle of the transplanted hairs where they go from catagen to telogen phase.
Does FUE Hair Transplant Really Work?
The average growth of your hair is one inch per month, even though it may also vary for each person. As you hair enter the anagen phase in 4 months after the procedure, you may notice the hair growth for 8-10 inches in length. In the initial of the anagen phase, the hair may grow thinner, it will get thicker and fuller within next months. Overall, the hair transplant allows you to see the result a year after the procedure. Well, the result is worth to wait.
If you’re going to apply special treatment to support the hair growth including medication, massages, or Platelet Rich Plasma(PRP), you need to consult your doctor first. However, the most important thing is to follow the instruction about what you can and can’t do during the recovery time. You can contact us page for more information.
