Dr. Tayfun Oguzoglu graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Gazi University in Ankara in 1990. He founded the DrT Hair Transplant Clinic in 1998 and has since established himself as one of the pioneers of modern FUE and Long Hair FUE techniques. Throughout his career, he has played a central role in shaping international standards and advancing surgical innovation in the field of hair transplantation. He is fluent in both Turkish and English.
Dr. Oğuzoğlu began performing hair transplants in 1998 using the FUT technique, which he practiced for six years before transitioning to the FUE method in 2003. He organized Turkey’s first FUE workshop that same year, sharing his expertise with many colleagues and helping to establish FUE as the new global standard. In 2004, he focused exclusively on FUE procedures, refining manual extraction techniques to achieve more natural results. When the motorized FUE method was introduced in 2007, he became one of the first surgeons to integrate it successfully into his daily practice, further enhancing surgical precision and efficiency.
Dr. Oguzoglu has been an active member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) since 1998 and has served the organization for more than two decades in several important roles, including the FUE Advancement Committee, the Membership Committee, and the European Standards Subcommittee. He has also chaired and co-chaired major ISHRS educational events, such as the 2016 ISHRS FUE Regional Workshop in Istanbul and the 2019 ISHRS FUE Cadaver and Live Surgery Workshop.
His scientific contributions and dedication to patient safety have been recognized internationally. In 2016, he received two ISHRS awards: Promoting High Standards of Safety and Quality of Care of Hair Loss Patients and Scientific Research Award. In 2018, he was honored with the title of Fellow of the ISHRS (FISHRS), a distinction granted to only a small number of physicians worldwide who have demonstrated exceptional expertise and contribution to the field.
In 2017, Dr. Oguzoglu successfully passed the comprehensive two-stage examination of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS) and earned the title of Diplomate, an achievement held by only around 200 physicians globally. This certification confirms that his practice meets the highest international standards in medical ethics and surgical excellence.
In addition to his work with the ISHRS, Dr. Oğuzoğlu is also a member of FUE Europe, one of the most respected professional hair transplant associations based in Germany. Since 2020, he has been serving as the President of the Turkish Society of Hair Restoration Surgeons (TSHRS), the leading national organization promoting advanced education, ethical practices, and professional standards in hair transplantation.
Over the course of his career, Dr. Tayfun Oğuzoğlu has trained more than 50 physicians in modern FUE and Long Hair FUE techniques, helping to raise the global standard of surgical quality and precision.
