What to Do Before a Hair Transplant? What to Do Before a Hair Transplant?
Nowadays hair transplantation is without any real risks. But as with any surgery, there are a few things that you should keep in mind:
I. Please send us the patient admission form regarding your general state of health at least a few days before the operation.
II. Aspirin or other anticoagulants should not be used for at least four days before the operation. (You should stop taking blood-thinning medications such as aspirin one week before the treatment).
III. No alcohol should be consumed 2 days before the operation day. (If you stop consuming alcohol 3-4 days before the operation, it would be even better).
IV. To avoid circulatory problems, you should also stop smoking one or two weeks before and after the operation.
V. You should stop taking any kind of vitamins or hair shake amino acids.
VI. You should stop using Minoxidil, Regain, and Rogain at least two weeks before your operation
VII. Please leave your hair untreated before the operation, i.e. without gel or spray and without any coloring. Do not cut your hair before the surgery, as we will shave it in the clinic before the operation.
VIII. Wear comfortable clothes on the day of the treatment. You should wear a top that can be easily taken off. A button-up shirt or a sweater with a zipper would be good choices.
IX. Have breakfast as usual before the operation. However, do not consume any coffee on the operation day. During the surgery we will offer you a light lunch.
